Heavenly Rita Hayworth as the goddess Terpsichore in the 1947 Technicolor musical DOWN TO EARTH. The film is a sequel to the 1941 film “Here Comes Mr. Jordan”, also directed by Alexander Hall. While Edward Everett Horton and James Gleason reprised their roles from the earlier film, Roland Culver replaced Claude Rains as Mr. Jordan. Film synopsis - Upset about a new Broadway musical's mockery of Greek mythology, the goddess Terpsichore (Hayworth) comes down to earth (as Kitty) and lands a part in the show. She works her charms on the show's producer Danny Miller (played by Larry Parks) and he incorporates her changes into the show. Unfortunately, her changes also produce a major flop. After a romantic interlude with Danny, Kitty returns to the musical and performs "Swingin' the Muses" in Danny's original vision. When the musical becomes a hit, Kitty learns her time on Earth is up and she must return to Heaven, despite her pleas to stay with Danny. In Heaven, Mr Jordan assures Kitty that she will see Danny again and grants her a vision of their eventual reunion in the afterlife.
